The week leading up to the 2015 North American International Auto Show has obviously been a busy one for automakers, and Toyota is no exception. They’ve been busily snapping pics of their answer to the 2016 pickup truck market in an attempt to whet our appetites for what will surely be a memorable unveiling in Detroit.
That answer of course is the 2016 Toyota Tacoma; and the fact that Toyota is releasing official shots of the Taco means no more spy shots for us; we finally get to see it in the flesh (so to speak).
The official pictures released by Toyota show an icy blue 4×4 double cab, the design of which is a refreshing takeoff from the previous incarnation of Toyota’s award winning pickup truck (which isn’t to say that the 2015 Taco was a poor design).
Technical details of the Tacoma are still as sketchy as ever, except of course what we can learn from the pictures themselves – notice the V6 badge in one of the pics?
Until the wraps come off beneath the lights of the COBO Center in Detroit on January 12, we’ll have to be content with what little we know of the new Tacoma. Toyota for one, will only say it’s got “new, rugged tech”.
